Shop bought Avocados may have been gassed to ripen them sooner.
From picking, Avocados take around 14 days to soften at room temperature.
Ripe Avocados should be stored in the fridge until used.

Our History:
We moved here from the city in January 2006 with the intention to grow and sell Avocados.
Our first year of ownership brought with it one of the worst frosts this area has experienced for quite a few years resulting in a loss of most of our fruit.
My husband painstakingly pruned off the damage and as our dream was/is to grow Organic Avocados began a regular organic fertilising routine, using natural organic fertilisers and microrganisms/bacteria to rebuild the soil.
We mulched heavily with mushroom compost and also used the prunings from our trees and the natural leaf drop.
This all eventually broke down and proved to be an added bonus for the soil condition, worm increase, tree and fruit health…
